The book is not for the novice, who will be constantly floored by a succession of esoteric terms. In other words, the book needs a glossary. You'll need a magnifying glass to read the tiny reductions of the screen shots. Reducing the amount of introductory 'waffle' would leave space to get these larger. Despite all this, the book got me there, eventually. Apart from needing a Glossary the book is quite informative, the Apple Pro guide version s 8, 9, X are much easier to follow as they have tutorials, this Logic Pro X book covers only some of what is needed to work within this DAW.

Yes, Logic Pro is worth the money. Logic is one of the most used DAWs today and comes with the tools needed to record, arrange, mix, master and more. It feels like the layout is more intuitive for someone who may be new to music production, making it easier for them to progress quicker. Pro Tools again feels a little like you need to already have a certain level of knowledge to be able to pick up on the nuances of the software.
There is one thing that, depending on your style, might seal the deal for you in this argument. As an example, if you want to send your guitar tracks, or any of your music, to an auxiliary or buss track then simply selecting an output to that track will automatically create the aux and route the signal there. On the other hand, Pro Tools will not send a signal anywhere unless it is specifically told to.
